The main purpose of this project was to test the latest features and improvements in Unreal Engine 5.6. The model of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Gullwing" was purchased from Wire Wheels Club, adjusted in Maxon Cinema 4D and further processed in Unreal Engine.
All images are just HighRes Screenshots with a minimal amount of retouch in Adobe Photoshop.
For environment and lighting I used one of the 3D scenes from CGI Backgrounds built on Ray HDR technology that captures accurate lighting data from the real world and offers both, Lumen and Path Tracing version. As the HDRI is projected on to 3D geometry, you can freely move your camera without getting any parallex issues or distortions in comparison to a classic HDRI Dome approach. It also comes with a tone-mapped version, making it perfect for quick, ready-to-use visuals. Currently it supports Unreal Engine to version 5.4 but can easily be upgraded to the latest version.
